It is a completely self-contained technology solution that gives you the ability to review a document for content, color, trim size, imposition and page alignment – all from the convenience of your own computer. You can review an EZBlue just like you would a physical blueline proof. And since an EZBlue can be created in minutes from any PDF, you’ll be able to spend more time on your mission critical activities.

EZBlue Benefits

It is vital that any tools used to make a final print decision are dependable, accurate and secure. That’s why we made EZBlue:

• Stable: a new innovation based on two well-established technologies — Adobe AcrobatTM and Macromedia FlashTM — gives us the ability to deliver a digital proof that is rendered realistically and accurately
• Fast: a file can be created from a PDF in a matter of minutes and an e-mail message containing a link to the EZBlue can be distributed to any size workgroup. The process takes a fraction of the time associated with traditional hardcopy creation and distribution
• Cost effective: Since they are distributed electronically, the costs associated with messenger services for hardcopy delivery are eliminated
• Flexible: EZBlues can be provided either in lieu of traditional blue lines or as a rapid supplement, should you want the comfort of a hardcopy document
• Realistic: It’s unique page-turning feature provides an amazingly realistic way to manipulate individual pages in the digital document, grabbing pages from any corner and folding them in any direction
• Accurate: Created from the same digital files that we use to go to press, no pages are opened during the EZBlue conversion process, guaranteeing what you see in the digital document is what you’ll see in the printed book

How Does it Work?

Files are delivered to you as hyperlinks to actual files hosted on secure, encrypted RR Donnelley servers. You have the option of opening and viewing the document from our servers, or downloading the file to your desktop to view locally. You also have the ability to forward the link to other members of your workgroup for their review and sign-off.

The EZBlue file is a completely self-contained player — there are no additional programs or plug-ins that need to be downloaded. The current features set gives you all the tools you need to review your document:

• Multi-level zoom in and out
• Flexible navigation, so you can jump or flip to specific pages, or to the beginning or end of your document
• Multiple print options, so you can print specific pages or page ranges of your document
• Tips area providing advice on how to take advantage of all the product features

We plan on adding a number of valuable enhancements to EZBlue in the near future.

Minimum System Requirements

At the present time, EZBlue files are only available for MS Windows-based personal computers. The Apple Macintosh platform is not supported. EZBlue files are optimally rendered with a screen resolution set at 1024x768. Lower resolution settings may not render properly on small screens.
